Terms of Service

Last updated: 25 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between dogmode ("dogmode", "we", "us") and the business that creates a dogmode account ("you"). Version 2.0, for businesses that join from 25 October 2026. dogmode is becoming a company (a Pty Ltd), which will take over this agreement under clause 23. We will tell you when it does.

Joined before 25 October 2026? Your agreement is our 22 July 2026 terms (dogmode.site/terms/2026-07-22) until you accept this version.

The key terms, in short:

  • Your plan is billed monthly at the price on our pricing page for your country. A new account starts with a 7-day free trial, no card needed, and nothing is charged unless you start a plan.
  • Bookings through dogmode's doors (your booking page, website, report cards, payment links and the marketplace) carry our booking fee, which comes off your plan.
  • While you take card payments, your customers can always book and pay online: on your report cards, their Dogdoor and your website. You choose what you offer, your prices, hours and closed dates.
  • While your plan or trial is live, you are listed on the dogmode marketplace. We may show your business, photos and offers there, in the feed and in advertising.
  • Your customer records stay yours. Pet owners who make their own dogmode account become dogmode's users too.
  • Leave with 30 days' notice. Price and term changes come with 30 days' notice, and you can leave free of them.

1. Who this agreement is with

1.1 The person who agrees for the business confirms they are at least 18 and can agree for it.

1.2 You are responsible for everyone who uses your logins. Staff logins act for you.

2. How you agree, and how we contact each other

2.1 You agree to these terms when you agree to them on the sign-up screen, or when you accept an update in the app. We record the version, the time and the login that agreed.

2.2 We send notices about this agreement to your account email and in the app. A notice from either of us counts as received when it is sent, unless the sender learns it did not arrive.

2.3 Our Privacy Policy forms part of this agreement, and so does any order form we agree with you. If they conflict, the order form wins, then these terms.

3. What dogmode is

3.1 dogmode is a platform for dog businesses and the people who love their dogs. It includes software you use to run your business (bookings, payments, report cards, messages, customer records, websites) and a network dogmode runs for pet owners (the Dogdoor app, the pack feed, and the dogmode marketplace where pet owners find and book businesses).

3.2 The pack feed, Dogdoor and the marketplace are dogmode's network. They may show content from many businesses, from pet owners and from dogmode, and we decide what is shown and in what order.

3.3 We improve the platform constantly. We may add, change or remove features, make a free feature paid, move a feature to another plan, or add paid features. If we remove a feature listed for your plan on our pricing page, we give you at least 30 days' notice, and you may leave free of it under 22.3.

3.4 Features marked beta or preview are early. They may change or stop, and we provide them as they are.

4. Your plan, prices and fees

4.1 Our prices for your country are on our pricing page and in your account: the plan price per location, the booking fee, the marketplace new-customer fee, text messages beyond your allowance, websites, add-ons and any setup. Prices exclude taxes unless the pricing page says otherwise.

4.2 A new account can start with a 7-day free trial. No card is needed. When the trial ends, nothing is charged unless you start a plan.

4.3 When a booking comes through one of dogmode's doors (your report cards, your dogmode booking page, your website or embed, a staff payment link, or the dogmode marketplace), we keep the booking fee shown on our pricing page, however the booking is then paid. It is a share of the total the customer pays (including any tax), with a minimum per booking, and it includes card processing when the customer pays through dogmode. It is charged to your business. Today, a booking your staff enter themselves that is paid outside dogmode (cash, your own card machine, bank transfer) carries no booking fee; any change to that follows 4.6.

4.4 Booking fees you pay in a billing period are credited against that period's plan charge, dollar for dollar, down to zero. The credit applies to the plan only, has no cash value, and is reduced by booking fees later refunded.

4.5 If you refund a customer, the booking fee is not returned, because the booking and the payment were still processed. If dogmode caused the refund, we return the fee in full.

4.6 We may change our prices or add a new fee by giving you at least 30 days' notice. The change applies from your next billing period after the notice ends. If you do not want it, you may leave free of it under 22.3.

4.7 dogmode may charge pet owners for dogmode's own services (for example a membership or a marketplace service fee). Any such fee is shown to the pet owner before they pay. We give you 30 days' notice before one first applies to bookings with your business.

4.8 You are responsible for taxes on your own sales. We show tax on our invoices where it applies.

5. How long this lasts, and leaving

5.1 Unless an order form sets a minimum term (5.5), your plan runs month to month until you or we end it.

5.2 To end your plan, tell us: email [email protected], or use Settings ▸ Billing. That is your notice, and it counts from the day it is sent. We will be in touch within one business day to confirm your end date in writing. If we offer you options, saying no changes nothing.

5.3 Your plan ends 30 days after your notice (or at the end of a minimum term, if that is later). Plan charges continue until then. You can withdraw your notice any time before the end date.

5.4 Instead of leaving, we may agree to pause your plan for up to 3 months. While paused, your records are kept, your marketplace listing is hidden, and plan charges stop or reduce as we agree in writing.

5.5 If we switch you over by hand (importing your records, setting up your account, or building your website) without charging you for that work, your order form will show a minimum term of up to 12 months and the setup value (our reasonable cost of that work). If you end your plan before the minimum term ends, you repay only the part of the setup value not yet recovered, reducing in equal monthly steps to zero at the end of the term. You never repay it if you leave because we breached this agreement or under 22.3. When the minimum term ends, your plan continues month to month, and we remind you at least 30 days before it does.

5.6 Add-ons you pay for separately, such as a website, can be cancelled any time and run to the end of the time you have paid for.

6. Paying us

6.1 You authorise us to charge your payment method on file for plan charges, usage (such as texts) and other amounts in your account when each falls due.

6.2 If you take payments through dogmode, we may take plan charges, usage, and chargeback or refund amounts we covered for you from your dogmode payouts first, and charge your card only for what they do not cover. You authorise us, and Stripe for us, to do this. Each deduction is itemised in your account. We never deduct an amount you have disputed with us in good faith while we look into it.

7. If a payment to us fails

7.1 We tell you the same day and ask you to update your card. Our payment provider retries it.

7.2 If it is still unpaid 7 days after it failed, we may pause your report cards, texts and marketplace listing until it is paid.

7.3 If it is still unpaid 14 days after it failed, we warn you in writing that your plan will end on day 21. If it is still unpaid on day 21, your plan ends that day.

7.4 Your customers' online bookings and payments keep working throughout, so no pet owner is stranded. Paying what is owed restores everything we paused. We never charge interest or late fees.

8. Online bookings and payments

8.1 Card payments, payouts and our charges to you are processed by Stripe. To take payments you also accept Stripe's Connected Account Agreement, which forms part of this agreement. Payouts go to your bank account. dogmode is not a bank.

8.2 We and Stripe set payout timing. We may delay, reserve or hold a payout for risk, fraud, a dispute, a legal reason or an amount you owe us, and we tell you why. Because refunds and chargebacks can arrive months after a payment, when your plan ends we may keep a reserve from your last payouts for up to 120 days to cover them, and you remain responsible for them.

8.3 dogmode may offer financial products from partners (such as business funding or accounts) on their own terms. We may receive fees or a revenue share from our partners and payment providers, including on payments you take through dogmode, and we keep it.

8.4 You are the seller of your services. You are responsible for honouring bookings, your cancellation and refund policies, your prices and descriptions, and chargebacks on your sales, including the bank's chargeback fee. If you win a dispute, the money comes back to you.

8.5 While you take card payments through dogmode, online booking stays on: your report cards, your customers' Dogdoor, your dogmode booking page and your website always let a customer book and pay for the services you offer online, and at least one service stays bookable online. You choose those services, their prices, your hours, your closed dates and your deposits. A customer who books online pays when they book, in full or by your deposit, and paying in full is always offered. A service you offer online is booked through dogmode, not sent to another booking page. Visits your team adds can be paid however suits the customer.

9. The dogmode marketplace

9.1 Being listed on the dogmode marketplace is part of every plan: while you have a live plan or trial, your business is listed. Your listing may show your name, address, services, prices, hours, photos of dogs whose owners agreed, and ratings and reviews, including your public Google rating.

9.2 We order listings by what we think a pet owner will find most useful. The main factors are relevance to their search, distance, availability, your booking and review history on dogmode, how complete your listing is, and whether you are new to dogmode. We may offer paid listings, boosts and promoted placements, at a price shown before you buy. Paid placements are always labelled, and not buying one never removes your listing.

9.3 When a pet owner who is new to your business first books you through the marketplace, a one-time new-customer fee applies to that first booking, at the rate, minimum and maximum on our pricing page. It applies only where we have switched it on for your city, and we give you at least 30 days' notice before it first applies to you, and you may leave free of it under 22.3. A booking counts as coming through the marketplace when the pet owner reached you from a marketplace page, search result or map. Customers who come to you through your own links, your website or your report cards do not carry it.

9.4 Where the new-customer fee applies, for 12 months after a pet owner first books you through the marketplace, you must not ask or steer them to book or pay outside dogmode to avoid it.

9.5 dogmode may ask pet owners to review a visit and may show those reviews. You must not post, buy or pressure for fake or misleading reviews. You can reply to reviews publicly.

10. What dogmode owns

10.1 dogmode owns the platform: the software, apps, websites we host, designs, the report-card formats and templates, the pack feed, the marketplace, rankings, our brand and domains, and all improvements to them, including any made using your feedback. Your own domain name, and your content on websites we host, stay yours.

10.2 dogmode also owns platform data: information about how dogmode is used, the rankings, scores and insights we create about businesses on dogmode, and aggregated or de-identified data that does not identify your customers or any person. We may use platform data for any lawful purpose, during this agreement and after it ends, and may share, license or sell it as long as what we share does not identify you or any person.

10.3 Anything we create from your records that identifies one of your customers or their dog, including words our AI drafts for you, is part of your records.

10.4 We give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the platform for your business while this agreement lasts. Nothing else passes to you. If you send us ideas or feedback, you give dogmode all rights in them.

11. What you own, and the licence you give us

11.1 Your records stay yours: your customer list, dogs, visits, notes, prices, and the photos, words and other content you or your staff put into the platform.

11.2 You give dogmode a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, copy, store, adapt, format, translate and display your records, to run, secure and improve dogmode for you, and to create aggregated or de-identified data (including to develop and improve our features, our AI features among them).

11.3 For your business content (your business name, logo, services, prices, hours, and the photos and words you publish or share through dogmode), the licence also lets us publish and share it in the marketplace, the pack feed, dogmode apps, search and maps, and to promote your business and dogmode, including in advertising, on our channels and others. A dog's photo is used in promotion only where its owner agreed.

11.4 We may extend these licences to the companies that help us run dogmode, for these purposes only. The licences last while you use dogmode, and continue after you leave only for content already published or shared (report cards and photos pet owners saved or reshared, marketplace history, reviews), for backups while we keep them, and for de-identified data.

11.5 You confirm you have the rights and permissions to put your content into the platform, including the consents of the people and dog owners in your photos. You consent to us using your content as this clause allows without naming you as its author, and you will get the same consent from your staff.

12. Pet owners: your records and ours

12.1 Your records about your customers are yours. When we handle them, we do it for you, to run the platform for you.

12.2 When a pet owner creates their own dogmode account and agrees to dogmode's pet owner terms (for example to sign in to Dogdoor or book through the marketplace), they also become dogmode's user, under our own terms and privacy policy. We may keep and use that account's information for our own purposes, including after you leave. We may link their account to your records of them when they confirm it is them, and, with their agreement, their account may keep a copy of their dog's details (such as breed, vaccinations and care needs) to share with other businesses they choose to book. Your private notes are never copied.

12.3 Each of us is responsible for the information we control. We only send dogmode's own marketing to pet owners who have agreed to hear from us. We will not use your records to choose which other dog businesses to show or send to your customers.

12.4 You must tell your customers that you use our platform to run your business. We give you suggested words for your privacy notice on request.

13. Advertising, sponsored content and products

13.1 dogmode may show advertising, sponsored content, offers and products, both ours and other businesses', on any part of dogmode, including surfaces that carry your brand: report cards and card emails, your booking page, websites we host for you, the Dogdoor app and the pack feed. Before advertising first appears on a surface that carries your brand, we give you 30 days' notice, and you may leave free of it under 22.3.

13.2 When we do, it is clearly labelled as sponsored or as from us. We will not sell advertising for another dog grooming, daycare, boarding, walking or training business on your own report cards, booking page or hosted website (this does not limit listings, search results, recommendations or feed content in the marketplace, the pack feed or Dogdoor). We comply with spam and privacy laws, including getting a pet owner's own agreement where the law needs it, and we are responsible for the advertising we place and will cover you for claims about it.

13.3 The revenue is ours unless we offer you a share in writing. We may offer plans or settings that change what advertising appears. dogmode may sell its own products and services, and other businesses' products, to you and to pet owners, including brand campaigns and samples for pet owners who have agreed to hear from us. We may recommend or refer you or pet owners to other businesses (such as insurers, vets and product sellers) and receive a commission or fee for it; a paid recommendation is labelled.

14. Messages to your customers

14.1 Your plan includes 200 texts per location each month, then the per-text price on our pricing page for your country. Email and link sharing are free.

14.2 Messages we send for your business are sent in your name. You must only message people who expect to hear from you, and comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) and the messaging laws of your country. dogmode respects every recipient's opt-out, and you must not work around one.

15. Our marks, apps and new products

15.1 Our name and marks (such as "Powered by dogmode" and "Made with dogmode") may appear on report cards, booking pages, websites we host, keepsakes and shared images. Some settings let you switch some of them off.

15.2 We may deliver the platform through mobile apps, launch new apps and products for businesses or pet owners, and invite your customers into our apps as part of your service (for example, the link to their dog's Dogdoor). A new product may come with its own terms, which we show you before you use it. We may also offer APIs, integrations, white-label versions and reseller programs, and may share your records with an app you choose to connect.

15.3 We may name your business as a customer and show your logo, public reviews and published report cards in our marketing. Email us to stop being named in our marketing (your marketplace listing is part of your plan, 9.1).

15.4 Some features use artificial intelligence, through us and our providers. AI can be wrong: check what it drafts before you send or rely on it. We do not allow our AI providers to train their own models on your records.

15.5 Services from other companies that you connect (such as Google, another booking system or your bank) are provided by them, under their terms.

16. Acceptable use

  • No unlawful use, and no content you have no right to use.
  • No spam, and no messages to people who have opted out.
  • No probing, scanning or testing our security, and no access to another business's data.
  • No scraping, copying, reverse engineering or decompiling the platform, or using it to build a competing product.
  • No reselling dogmode without our written agreement.
  • No fake or misleading reviews, listings or prices.
  • No malicious code or harmful content.

17. Your services and your insurance

17.1 Your business provides the grooming, daycare, boarding or other services. dogmode does not, and is not a party to your agreement with your customers. You are responsible for the care of every dog in your custody and for the laws that apply to your services, including animal welfare laws.

17.2 You must hold insurance suitable for your services, including public liability insurance.

18. Suspension, and us ending the agreement

18.1 We may suspend all or part of your account if a payment is overdue (clause 7), you seriously breach this agreement, we reasonably believe your use risks harm to pet owners, other businesses, us or the law, or the law requires it. Where practical we warn you first, tell you why, and give you a chance to fix it. We restore your account when the reason is fixed.

18.2 We may end this agreement by giving you 30 days' notice. We may end it sooner, with notice and our reasons, if you seriously breach it and do not fix the breach within 14 days of our notice (or at once if it cannot be fixed), or if the law requires it.

19. After your plan ends

19.1 Your report cards, texts, website and marketplace listing stop. Bookings your customers have already paid for are yours to honour or refund.

19.2 You can have a copy of your records (customers, dogs and visits) as a spreadsheet at any time, and for 90 days after your plan ends: ask in the app or email [email protected] and we send it within 5 business days. After that we delete or de-identify them, except backups (which expire within 30 days) and what the law requires us to keep.

19.3 Pet owners' own accounts (12.2), platform data (10.2) and the parts of the licence that continue (11.4) are not affected. Amounts you owe us up to your end date remain payable.

20. Privacy, security and confidentiality

20.1 We protect your records with security suited to their sensitivity, and tell you without undue delay if a breach affects them.

20.2 If you are in the UK or the EU, we sign a data processing agreement with you on request.

20.3 Your takings, bookings and unpublished prices are confidential. We never show them to another business, except in benchmarks that cannot identify you.

21. Liability

21.1 Nothing in this agreement excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or similar laws that cannot be excluded. Where those laws let us limit our liability, we limit it to supplying the services again or paying for them to be supplied again.

21.2 Otherwise, each party's total liability for all claims under this agreement is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. For our breach of clause 20, the limit is three times that amount. The limit does not apply to amounts you owe us, your cover in 21.4, or a party's fraud.

21.3 Neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, except where caused by its fraud or wilful misconduct. If your records are lost through our breach, we restore them from backup at our cost.

21.4 You will cover us for claims by others arising from your services (including any harm to a dog in your care), your content, the messages you send, or your breach of the law, except to the extent we caused the loss.

21.5 We will cover you, up to the limit in 21.2, for claims by others that the platform, used as we intend, infringes their intellectual property. This does not cover content or data you supplied, changes we did not make, other companies' services, or AI output. We may change or replace the affected part, or end it and refund what you prepaid for it, and that is your only remedy.

22. Changes to these terms

22.1 We may update these terms. For any change other than one that only adds to your rights, we give you at least 30 days' notice by email and in the app, with a summary of what changed. Shorter notice applies only where the law, security or a payment partner requires it.

22.2 If you do not accept a change, you may give notice under clause 5 before it starts. Otherwise the change applies from the date in the notice. A change never applies to anything that happened before it.

22.3 If you give notice under clause 5 before a change starts, the change does not apply to you before your end date, and no exit amount applies. This covers changes under clauses 3.3, 4.6, 4.7, 9.3, 13.1, 22 and 23.

23. Transferring this agreement

23.1 We may transfer this agreement, and the information we hold under it, to a company controlled by dogmode's owner, a related company, or a buyer of all or part of our business. We will tell you. A transfer will not reduce your rights. If you object, you may leave free of it under 22.3.

23.2 You may transfer this agreement only with our written consent, which we will not unreasonably withhold (for example, when you sell your business).

24. General

24.1 This agreement is governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

24.2 It is the whole agreement between us about the platform. If a part is unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a right is not giving it up. Neither party is liable for delay caused by events beyond its reasonable control.

24.3 We may use subcontractors and service providers anywhere in the world to deliver the platform, and remain responsible for them under this agreement.

24.4 Questions? Email [email protected].
